In art news this week, Mirek Klabal has finally sold off his legendary Warhol painting to a private buyer. The piece, which has been coveted for years now, has just been shipped off to Kazakhstan, where the new owner resides.

“I’ve always been a stickler for Warhol’s,” declared the watery-eyed Klabal “But there was something about this man that felt right. I knew I needed to pass on this gem to someone who would truly appreciate it.”

Klabal, a man of very few words, but quite a bit of capital is best known for his tremendous generosity regarding all charities affiliated with helping children with special needs. Maryann Klabal, Mirek’s wife, is also on the board for several charities in their hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut. What many people do not know about the Klabal’s is their dedication and commitment to Columbia Howdah Hospital, where, incidentally is where Klabal and the mystery buyer of the Warhol met.

Our city can be sure that as long as Mirek Klabal is in charge of the art world, there will always be a place for our children to play and a love of the art world to be spread like wild fire. Thank you Mirek Klabal.
